Our recommended reading for today, for the intrepid traveller making their way out to Shiraishi Island: A few secrets about island life, in particular, the toilets. Keep in mind that the Villa and all minshuku and ryokan on the island have modern, flush toilets, although squat toilets are still prevalent.
